AHB was contracted by GCC to support innovators to transition their innovation to scale in the healthcare sector. AHB was supporting GCC by providing services that are tailored to improving the capacity, capabilities, strategic partnerships and growth of the health innovators.
AHB was instrumental in providing the innovators with technical, advisory and partnership linkages to key decisionmakers in the healthcare system covering both the public, private, development, NGO, FBO and CSO sectors. AHB facilitated group engagement and awareness creation sessions and developed an online collaboration platform where health innovators could read up-to-date relevant health news, share challenges, lessons learnt and overall contacts.
AHB worked on a demand driven approach with the demand for innovations emanating from the community. This approach will ensure innovators are responding to the needs and will result in sustainability of the use of these innovations.
Following the symposium, there was a strong expression of interest from private health sector players in attendance, to join forces and form a private sector led and driven Coalition for Women’s Health in Africa. AHB, together with the founding members, developed and launched the Coalition for Women’s Health in Africa (COWHA) in October 2022
In 2021, AHB provided in depth feasibility study for a Client. The client is a development and manufacturing group that develops, produces and sells guide wires, guiding catheters and balloon catheters which are medical devices indispensable for catheter treatment.
The client was looking to understand how feasible it was to introduce the medical devices to Kenya and Ghana and to establish a catheter lab in hospitals in the two countries. AHB supported the client by conducting two studies: An in-depth assessment of the two countries. This was to determine the demand for catheter laboratories. The second assessment involved the facility assessment of two Identified hospitals with potential to host a catheter lab. The assessment included a financial assessment that included revenue projections and different revenue models that the client could utilize.
AHB provided in depth assessments to the client on the two countries and the two hospitals. AHB was able to provide actionable insights that assisted the client to foresee potential opportunities, challenges, prepare for risks, and weigh the benefits of the project.
